Another successful art fair! (June 2016)

Students worked in many media this year and had the opportunity to delve into concepts in design, fine art, art history, and crafts.

In crafts, all students worked in clay and textile arts, including creating ceramic works, working on the potter's wheel, weaving yarn and baskets, making mosaics, and quilting.

In art history, students learned about famous artists--including Degas, Chagall, Van Gogh, Calder, and Joseph Albers (theory of color relationships), among others--and had an introduction to the ancient art of Chinese brush painting.

In fine art and design, students developed skills using charcoal, pencil, paint, and mixed media to illustrate, draw from nature, and create abstraction.
